Michael Lucid is an L.A.-based comedian, writer, filmmaker and story analyst, whose creative work ranges from feature screenplays and pilots to comedy sketches on YouTube and TikTok.Michael has worked as a story developer for “Drunk History” on Comedy Central, a sketch writer for the CBS Diversity Showcase, and an online sketch comedy writer/producer for World of Wonder, producers of the Emmy-winning “RuPaul’s Drag Race” on MTV. He recently co-wrote a courtroom dramedy feature script with Michael Lannan, creator of the HBO series “Looking," and he directed and animated a music video for the Warner Bros. band The Ditty Bops. Michael’s been strongly involved with Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in LA as a sketch writer for two of their Maude sketch teams, and an improviser for one of their Mess Hall improv teams. He’s also studied with The Groundlings Theater, graduating from their improv program and Writing Lab.Michael’s other comedic work includes being a member of the LGBTQ sketch trio “Dumpster Queens,” created by YouTube comedian Michael Henry, and he was a cast member in Skybound’s Youtube series “Nerd Court,” and in the Funny or Die web series “Not Looking.”He played a lead role in the indie feature comedy “Chemical Cut,” as well, written by and starring Marjorie Conrad, a cast member from “America’s Next Top Model,” and the film premiered at Slamdance in 2016.Michael’s own half-hour comedy pilots have won or placed highly in numerous screenwriting competitions, placing as a Quarterfinalist in the 2022 Final Draft Big Break Competition, a Semifinalist in the 2022 Cinequest Screenplay Competition, and a Second Rounder in the 2022 Austin Film Festival. Michael started producing his comedic work as a college student at NYU from 1997 to 2001, where he created and hosted his own sketch comedy show “Pretty Things” on NYU’s on-campus TV station. While at NYU, Michael also directed and edited the short documentary “Dirty Girls,” which focused on a group of teen riot grrrls and their schoolyard bullies, using video footage he’d shot a few years earlier as a high school senior. Michael uploaded the documentary to YouTube in 2013, and the film now has over 3 million online views. “Dirty Girls” has also now been featured in VICE, NY Magazine, Bust, Dazed, The Village Voice, LA Weekly, Jezebel, Buzzfeed and more.Michael continues to write, perform and produce comedic content in LA, and he’s represented by James Cristiano as a comedic writer and actor at Seven Summits Pictures & Management.
