Supporting 150 medium to large member companies. Secured various UK Government Ministers and Secretary of State's as key note speakers at number of events as well as used influencing skills that secured event sponsorship through member companies. Successfully built relationships and lobbied Government policy by obtaining business meetings with Ministers, senior civil servants and special advisors to Government.Recognised for influencing legislation (Energy Bill) by tabling amendments through Shadow Ministerial team. Worked on EIC and ACE gaining accreditation and recognised as National Trade Bodies for International Trade.

Undertook two year assignment acting as Political and Policy Adviser to Shadow Environment Ministerial Team as well as frequent stand-in on All Party Parliamentary Committees. Organised and chaired regular meetings with constituents, business groups, charities, NGOs (non-governmental organisations), environmental groups, CEOs and Parliamentary groups to elicit, collate and crystallise nationally represented views and issues for all Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change) related issues. Led initiatives aimed at gaining acceptance of policy by Shadow Defra team and prepared budgetary and structural reviews for all Defra related NGOs. Provided accurate and informed intelligence briefings to Shadow Minister supported by building relationships with corporate retail and regional businesses, ‘green’ groups such as Friends of the Earth and political organisations such as ‘think tanks’ as well as main television and newspaper media channels and electorate. Selected projects and achievements are listed below: Gathered intelligence from key stakeholders and wrote all speech notes for Marine and Coastal Access Bill, shaped new direction for number of Quangos in accordance with Ministerial views as well as persuaded DEFRA/DECC related groups to shape future policy that had potential viability within new government framework. Built database for media contacts nationwide that enabled rapid and accurate dissemination of information. Successfully incorporated amendments into Parliamentary Bills by building rapport with and influencing Government Ministers, Parliamentary sub-committees and Government backbenchers.

In parallel with other roles took additional assignment tasked with writing and making policy recommendations to Shadow Ministerial Team prior to 2010 General Election.Shaped much of Conservative policy on green taxation and green economy issues.

Successfully undertook 14 month assignment as part of remit planning, organising and timetabling preparation of mission critical report as well as facilitated working groups and maintained regular contacts and meetings with key stakeholders and other interested parties. Acted as Editor in Chief of eight chapter, 400 page report on ‘The Quality of Life’ and wrote two chapters on ‘The Zero Waste Economy’ and ‘Well-Being’.
