Utilized Active Directory to change passwords and set permissions. Deployed computers using Symantec Ghost. Supported a range of software including MS Word/Excel/Access/Outlook, Filemaker, Attachmate, PICME Ecopy, Citrix, and Prolaw. Wrote VB scripts and batch files to automate processes. Supported 4000+ water systems for Electronic Annual Report (EAR) System. Supported visually impaired staff in legal department (Zoomtext, JAWS reader, VPN). Utilize Bomgar to remote into field office computers for support, also acting as backup administrator. Modified file and folder permissions on file servers. Configured network printers. Used both Spiceworks and Remedy to track tickets.

Emergency Preparedness Office - Information Technology and Telecommunications Section - Emergency Communications UnitSupported IT systems in the Emergency Preparedness Office’s (EPO) Joint Emergency Operations Center (JEOC), including 800 MHz radios, Iridium Motorola 9505A Satellite Phone, remote internet connectivity using VSAT system, Activu display walls, Avaya web conferencing, and other emergency response systems. Developed policies and operating procedures for some of the above listed equipment. Deployed to the Richmond Campus Coordination Center (RCCC) as the Communications Unit Leader during the H1N1 outbreak in April/May of 2009. Acted as the departmental representative on the Public Safety Radio Strategic Planning Committee’s (PSRSPC) Technology Workgroup. Oversaw the application for and management of EPO’s Public Safety Interoperable Communications grant through the Dept. of Homeland Security. Reviewed IT equipment/software requests in local health department grants to ensure alignment with the federal guidelines. Trained department personnel, include director's office, on use of satellite phones. Made presentations to local health departments regarding IT guidelines as part of technical assistance sessions. Maintained the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) for EPO. Participated in regular drills and exercises, as required by federal grants. Served as Acting Chief of the Emergency Communications Unit for 6 months.

The following duties were performed under contract with the CA Dept. of Public Health (CDPH) Cancer Prevention and Nutrition Section (CPNS):Supervised the Information Technology Unit for the Cancer Prevention and Nutrition Section. Planned for and supported the IT needs for 123 staff and an section-wide budget of 110 million. Managed a database designer, web designer and PC support technician. Was a member of the section’s Senior Staff, reporting to the Section Chief. Managed Microedge GIFTS Database Project from design phase through implementation. Administered SQL server for GIFTS database, including running backups, restores and setting up training databases. Trained 80 users on Microedge GIFTS database in 2-3 hour sessions. Average instructor rating (on scale of 1-5) was 4.74.

The following duties were performed under contract with the CA Dept. of Public Health (CDPH), Tobacco Control Section (TCS):Responsible for the development, design, and maintenance of TCSPartners.org, an internal web-based communication system for the Tobacco Control Section. Acted as technical lead on OTIS Joint Application Development Workgroup. Edited and published a weekly, 7-10 page program update. Custom-designed online forms using PERL script. Provided technical support to 58 county health departments, 3 city health departments, 77 non-profit organizations for the Online Tobacco Information System (OTIS). Designed user database in Microsoft Access with the following features: Importation of online form data; account assignments, merge-emailing capability, importation of web log data, and calculation of quarterly web site use grades for each user. System Administrator for OTIS Versions 1.0 and 2.0, which involved adding/deleting users, setting permissions, writing FAQ’s, managing the online help desk, and setting up procurements. Performed remote Unix server administration duties for PARTNERS Web site.
