Daily Table is a not-for-profit retail grocery chain operating five stores in the Boston area with a mission to make healthy food affordable to all. I led all operations of a nonprofit retail grocery chain including retail stores, commissary kitchen, procurement, finance and accounting, real estate development, fundraising and marketing. I grew the organization from one store to five, creating processes and systems to enable execution in a multi-store environment. I also hired and developed a team to lead each functional area to support the increased scale.

I led all operations functions including production, packaging, marketing and sales of a startup hydroponic farm. I developed and launched a new fresh produce brand into the Boston-area market, redesigned the production schedule to maximize yield and consistency and consistently sold out all inventory. I built the sales and marketing function, managed the production and logistics team and managed customer relationships.

As part of Amazon’s accelerated leadership program I was part of the launch team at a high-volume fulfillment center serving the greater New York City market. I led large teams fulfilling customer orders and helped several new departments open from 0 to 300 FTE. I focused on associate engagement and training to continually improve production metrics and meet increasingly challenging goals.

JFDC is a pioneer in the organic and fair trade produce industry with production in the US and Mexico with an emphasis on small-holder farm sourcing.At JFDC, I worked directly with the executive team to analyze freight schedules between the US and Mexico. In addition to identifying opportunities to optimize trucking schedules, I conducted deep listening sessions with departments across the company that helped reveal internal barriers to on-time freight deliveries. I also led contract negotiations with Mexican trucking contractors.

KOMAZA is a forestry social enterprise producing sustainable wood products through a network of thousands of small-scale, rural farmers.I led all operations for a forestry social enterprise in coastal Kenya, leading all functions for 150 FTE including field operations, finance, HR, legal, and development. I grew the client base from 300 to over 5,000, developed new product lines and internal production capacity and helped lead the creation of a for-profit entity to enable larger-scale investment.

I directly managed all forestry field operations, growing staff from 30 to 100+ FTE I developed systems for growth, built a training program and established operating protocols and safety procedures. I established a proof-of-concept tree nursery to internally produce 400,000 seedlings using uncommon, high value native tree varieties.

Shelterbelt Builders is a specialty contractor focused on invasive plant control, native plant resoration, ecological monitoring and landscape construction.I led project management activities for multiple crews across the greater San Francisco Bay Area. I wrote proposals and bids for new contracts, scheduled crews and equipment and supervised field crews.

I led a team of three in field data collection for forest dynamics study and managed the database and records.

I led volunteer groups and supervised 3rd party contractors engaged in native plant restoration projects across the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. I also wrote and published a monthly newsletter. I also created a dichotomous key for identifying grasses of the GGNRA and led a training for 30+ park staff
