Built a new music service offering customers unlimited music downloads. Built an API (Python / Django) to allow frontend software on desktops and mobiles to interact with our catalog and user features. Our team was responsible for database design, caching, performance, and implementing user profiles, sharing of music, playlists, and other community features. The team and I coded features focused around device licensing, music recommendations, CheetahMail integration, tokens and groups related to users in a beta program, caching of top content and top API requests, and fetching and linking tracks / artists / albums from our database of music. We used Python/Django, MySQL, nginx, Tungsten replication, memcached, mongodb, rabbitmq, and RESTful principles.
