Michael Marrone is a Director with Clarkston Consulting, who has spent nearly his entire professional career working at the intersection of the life science industries and technology solutions. Drawn to understanding and appreciating the complexity of challenges facing global organizations, Michael leveraged his educational background in critical analysis of literature to develop strong skills of root-cause identification and remediation. After a start in multi-industry consulting, Michael found his niche working for pharmaceutical manufacturers facing the challenges and opportunities represented by enterprise resource planning solutions implementation. Michael has consistently demonstrated a natural ability to develop productive working relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels of a complex organization, and a pre-disposition to leading diverse teams in the delivery of high business value IT projects. Michael has actively sought to enrich his experience and perspective by leading international initiatives and teams, and has proven highly capable of managing scope, budget, and resources in a multi-cultural environment. Michael has spent substantial time working on projects in international settings, including relocating to Shanghai, China for a year to manage the implementation of an ERP solution for three Asian affiliate organizations.After returning from China in 2006, Michael sought more substantial challenges within the pharmaceutical industry, culminating in the leadership of a Fortune-500 generics pharmaceutical manufacturer’s global serialization IT program. Over four years in this role, Michael developed a comprehensive strategy for the architecture of the underlying system; oversaw the implementation of this solution across packaging sites in the US, Europe, Asia, and South America; and created a global executive-level IT stakeholder body, chartered with providing guidance and support for annual project scope of $3-5 million. Seeking an opportunity for greater influence on the development of Best of Breed solutions to supply chain security challenges, Michael left his industry role to join Clarkston Consulting in a role that builds on his past experience and provides a path to capability- and brand-building in this essential service area.
