My name is Michael Mathews and I like to tap into people's hearts to help them find purpose for themselves and what they do. People want to know what they should be doing in their career and they need to know why. My ability to help them discover that purpose leads to deep reflection that highlights key moments in their lives that give them all the answers they're looking for. I'm also able to show them the true importance of their current work and their impact to others which leads to them building cathedrals vs laying bricks. Roosevelt said it best when he stated, "people don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." You have to invest in people if you expect them to invest themselves.One of my biggest accomplishments was when I received a 4.99 on my 2017 Gallup engagement survey with 11 respondents. That validates my leadership philosophy. I believe in a team culture where people can't compete with one another because they all want each other to win. You just be a better you and we'll be cheering for you. Change is inevitable and having an engaged team that shares trusts is key to staying agile and successful. Remember though, trusts is a one of those things you have to give to receive. Empower people and help them grow. I've had many great blessings in my professional career that have made me who I am today. I've led people that cared enough about me to give me honest feedback that helped me evolve as a leader of people. I've learned how to slow down but at the same time increase the velocity of my work. I've learned how to communicate better with the opposite sex, in person, virtually, and in small and large group settings. I've built a great technical skillset in the work I do, and all of this has come from all the people I've worked with over the last 10 years.
