Michael Matthys was awarded a Master in Applied Economics by the Ghent University. He also obtained the degree of 'Master in Tax Management' at the Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School (VLGMS).He started his career as research assistant within the Competence Center 'Accounting & Finance' at the Vlerick Leuven Ghent Management School. Afterwards he became a consultant within a small consultancy, where he accomplished projects within Strategy Management, Balanced Scorecard, Activity-Based Costing and Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing for both national and international organisations.
