About Michael I Mcburney

I am a nutrition scientist experienced in the marketing and sales of vitamins, omega-3 fatty acids, bioactive ingredients, foods and dietary supplements who has been employed by DSM (now DSM-Firmenich), Texas A&M University, Kellogg's, U Alberta, U Toronto, and U Manitoba. I am passionate about increasing usage of inexpensive, preferably rapid (10-15min), finger-stick diagnostic technologies to assess blood levels (nutrition status) for vitamins, ferritin and omega-3 fatty acids EPA+DHA. These tools will guide updates to nutrition reference values (NRVs) and dietary reference intakes DRIs and the personalization of nutrition guidance for individuals.
