I assisted Dr. Valerie Steeves with her research for the Equality Project. The Equality Project is an interdisciplinary initiative that is focused on understanding how diverse communities of youth are affected by discrimination and cyberbullying in networked spaces. It is focused on discovering new knowledge about how these youth conceptualize privacy and equality in these technological spaces, disseminating this information to policy makers, and creating educational tools for youth that respond to their self-identified needs. Specifically, I worked with Dr. Steeves to implement a deliberative dialogue methodology at an upcoming conference.

In this capacity, I assisted Dr. Colin Bennett with his research into the privacy implications of political party databases and campaigns. I provided research notes on the activities of parliamentary committees, developments in legislation, and academic journal articles. I also assisted with organizing a conference entitled "Data-Driven Elections: Implications and Challenges for Democratic Societies."

As a Teaching Assistant, I held regular office hours and graded student exams and assignments. I prepared a lesson plan for weekly tutorials and facilitated discussion in a classroom setting.

As a Customer Service Supervisor my priority was to ensure that customers received exceptional service. I was responsible for overseeing a large team of customer service representatives in a call-centre environment. I provided messaging during operational incidents and answered agent questions. I empowered agents to succeed through regular coaching sessions. I was also responsible for managing staffing levels relative to call volumes and for overseeing customer service recovery in the event of sailing cancellations or delays.

As a Key Accounts Representative, I processed a high volume of requests from commercial and tour group companies. I notified customers of sailing cancellations or delays and processed bulk cancellations and refunds. I also managed vessel space allocations and provided assistance to customer service representatives.

I was responsible for monitoring and posting content on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram through Hootsuite. I drafted responses to customer inquires and concerns, communicated operationally relevant information, and responded to customer emails.

I assisted customers with booking reservations, navigating internet resources, and making travel arrangements. I provided helpful information to improve their customer experience. I also used empathetic listening skills to resolve difficult situations.

I participated in the B.C. Legislative Internship Program where I had an opportunity to work with the Ministry of Advanced Education and B.C. New Democrat Opposition Caucus. In my capacity at Advanced Education, I assisted with legislative analysis and legislative drafting, as well as the researching and writing of briefing notes. While working with Opposition Caucus, I undertook research, drafted issue notes, and wrote questions to prepare Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) for the Budget Estimates process. Specifically, I was tasked with monitoring the estimates of the ministries of Health, Education, Finance, and Small Business and Red Tape Reduction. Additionally, I served as a co-organizer of a parliamentary education day for middle school students and organized the internship program’s model parliament.
