Funded and directed by The Boeing Company to research and build a dual material single extrusion printer or a composite 3D printer. Project through Colorado State University's Senior Design challenge course for engineering seniors. The 'Boeing Sandwich Panel' was tasked with designing, building, and testing a 3D printer capable of printing a composite. The project was finished before the deadline and under budget. The printer successfully printed both single axis beams and quasi-isotropic sheets. My roles in the project: -Led designer for the cooling system. This system regulates the temperature the material as extruded to minimize gaps and improve layer to layer consolidation.-Led designer for custom nozzle - Material required custom extrusion nozzle to avoid fiber fraying. Designed and hand machined part to reduce lead times and cost. -Software Engineering - Designed and tested a custom software to generated tool paths for the printer. Achieved despite little prior knowledge of the Java programming language. Over 2500 lines of code that can produce over 100,000 lines of movement commands. Custom GUI created for to make software more accessible. GUI notable features include custom option to allow for unique ordering, eight pre-assembled patterns to print, seventeen custom printer settings, print preview, and the ability to save. Teams Saftey Manager - responsible for reducing risks to team members, advisors, and guests.

Energy Audits on small to medium size manufacturing, the program has performed over 700 energy audits in Colorado and the nearby area. Students work with manufacturers to reduces energy loads by implementing new technologies. My duties included: touring customer facilities, finding new customers, keeping records of notes and photos taken, researching new technologies, reaching out to vendors for cost estimates, writing reports, training new engineers on software and protocol. The Job is exclusively for students attending a University.

The U.S. Department of Energy funds the Wind for Schools project, which helps develop a future wind energy workforce by engaging students at higher education institutions to join Wind Application Centers and serve as project consultants for small wind turbine installations at rural elementary and secondary schools. Teacher training and hands-on curricula are implemented at each K-12 host school to bring the wind turbine into the classroom through interactive and inter-school research tasks, engaging young people interested in science.Responsibilities: moniter, maintain, and repaire turbines across Colorado.

Working in one of Colorado State Universities many research labs, the Soft Tissue Mechanics Laboratory (STML) focuses on understanding the mechanical behavior and cellular response of the biological tissue. This lab wanted to know if it was possible to visually inspect damage to the meniscus. My role in the lab was to get mechanical data representative of the damage to this meniscus to be compared to a visual inspection of the damage. Successfully the lab staff was statistically able to correlate visual damage to mechanical damage. My daily work involved prepping samples, setting up the testing fixture, running the test, recording response data, cleaning up and communicating with laboratory staff. Towards the end of data collection, my duties shifted towards analysis of the data I collected.
