I love helping organisations and brands prepare for the future and stay ahead of the curve.Coming from a background in marketing and research, in 2004 I established a training consultancy called The Nexgen Group and since then have worked with brands including Toyota, Mastercard, Pepsi, Adidas and Google.Over the past 20 years, I have written 10 books - the most recent of which called "Mindstuck: Mastering the Art of Changing Minds" hit shelves around the globe in late 2023. The culmination of over 9 years of research into the psychology of stubbornness, this book examined why people don't change even when they want to, know they should and recognise the benefits of doing so. The reception of 'Mindstuck' was incredibly heartening with the likes of Adam Grant, Susan Cain, Malcolm Gladwell and Daniel Pink all recommending it as a 'must-read' book. Mindstuck was also featured in publications ranging from Forbes to Fast Company and The Guardian and was named as one of the top 5 new leadership books for 2024. This latest body of research builds on many of the themes I have written about in previous publications. By way of context, my first three books dealt with how to bridge the generation gap - specifically how lead and connect with Millennials and Gen Z. My next five books examined what it takes to navigate disruption and maintain momentum in turbulent times. With the release of my book "Teaching for Tomorrow," I turned my attention to how schools and educators can equip students for the future while ensuring their own professional practice remains relevant. During the pandemic years, my attention turned to how COVID was rapidly accelerating the pace of change and reshaping the way we lived, worked and engaged with brands. This research culminated in a book called "The New Now."Over the years, I've had the privilege of speaking to over 500,000 people across 5 continents and have shared the stage with some incredible people ranging from Bill Gates to Mel Robbins and Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. When not travelling for speaking engagements or researching for a new book, I call Sydney home. I may be biased but I reckon it's the most beautiful city in the world!Check out my website at www.MichaelMcQueen.net.
