My assignment entailed the Test Management & Coordination of the Central Services Refresh (CSRP) project, part of the London Market Target Operating Model (LM TOM) programme, working closely with internal & external groups, from Bureau service, to Brokers, Service Companies & Carriers (Underwriters). This includes scheduling, coordinating & testing Releases, CRs and Fixes from third party suppliers, while preparing & developing tests for following release, and building JIRA dashboards to give a Management & Test view of Status and Progress for the releases.

My assignment was the Test Management and Coordination of the Programme, predominantly Regulatory MiFID II & EMIR 3 Projects, covering & tracking 4 Projects / 8 Workstreams, ensuring progress is made to extremely tight timescales. Creating & utilising JIRA dashboards to confirm all Requirements & Test Cases are linked, co-ordinate test data preparation, defects assigned and progressing and provide a consolidated view across all the Workstreams and releases, with daily progress & calls to ensure good progress and a collaborative approach for any issues identified.

My assignment entailed the Coordination & SIT Test Assurance for the upgrade of the main Advice & Tracking System, being performed by the third party supplier, to include the move/migration from the existing Service Provider and Data Centre to both a new Service Provider & Data Centre. Additionally, alongside this, my other projects included Assuring SIT testing for the upgrade of separate third Party supplied/supported reporting systems, mobile application tracking systems, and following through to Coordinate & perform Functional & User testing in parallel with Business users

My Test Lead Role included analysis & review of Functional Specifications in order to develop High & Low Level Test Scenarios/Scripts, Co-ordinate and Execute Functional tests for the package, handling all aspects of Operational Risk across the group worldwide. Test Specialist for Global Reconciliation & Simplification on TLM PremiumMy role was to Test Lead & Co-Ordinate the combined System Test & SIT for the new Transaction Lifecycle Management (Premium) (TLMP) solution, which performed central Management & Reconciliation (REC) of incoming data from multiple data sources, including SWIFT, GL and ETL system. Coordinating & Leading the Test Team Members (6) on the test process and passing on any TLMP knowledge/understanding gained, alongside performing hands-on Test Analysis, Test Script/Data Development & Execution.Having set up QC for Script Development, Test Execution and Defect Management for each individual REC(12), ensuring each RECs individual rules/passes are executed successfully and that a concise structured approach is followed for each, working closely with the Project Mangers, Business Analysts and Developers, and continue to improve the process as each new Product is released to TLMP. I also setup, and ran, the daily Scrum to help pull the team together and ensure effective daily communication for the current and upcoming tasks. My role was to Test Lead & Co-Ordinate the combined Systems Integration Testing (SIT) / User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the replacement Data Warehouse UK Regularity Reporting system, Axiom, to accommodate the new Regulatory Reporting requirements for Credit (Capital) Risk Reporting & Market(Position) Risk Reporting, i.e. part of BASEL II / III preperation. I also reviewed and assisted System Test on Test Scenarios, Data Loading & Approach, as well as agree how best to utilise Test Assets, including QTP and in-house developed Test Tools.Supporting the Test Programme Manager by providing input and test estimates to overall Test Strategy and each Phases’ Test Approach, following through to develop and provide overviews for each Phases’ Detailed Test Plans, Coordinating SIT/UAT Test Development & Execution of up to 14 full time & seconded test team members, Reviewing Change Requests, Replanning as necessary, Produce Daily Test Progress Report (Scorecard)An important part of my role for the SIT Test was to load the Source System & GL files (150+) & process the data through the legacy & new systems, comparing the output with defined expected results, allowable tolerances, to include investigation and help explanation of any differences. This SIT testing data/output was then utilised to conduct UAT, and gain handover from the Business.

This included building a UAT Test Script Repository on HP Quality Centre, together with planning, organising & coordinating UAT across the UK, Asia, India & USA. I also managed SIT testing from Provisioning to Billing and Middleware systems and through to SAP for a number of projects.Additionally, I assisted the Project Manager to design and map out new process and schedule for releases to production.

Following an Agile Scrum Methodology, my role entailed analysing & reviewing Specifications and ‘User Stories’ to develop detailed Test Scripts on an internal web based Script Repository system. Together with other members of the Quality Control team, I performed test execution on 7 Sprints (Iterations) on a new .NET3.5 Windows Scanning & Data Collection package.In preparation for the upcoming tests, I cleared down & prepared the Application Server (32bit MS 2003 server on VMware), Database Server (32bit & 64bit MS 2008 Servers on VMware) and Workstation PC’s (Windows XP on VMware), including restoring to previous Snapshots, where available. I then accessed the ‘User Stories’ on SharePoint for the next component reviewed and used these to develop Test Scripts for the upcoming Sprint. Once the Sprint component had been released by the Development team, I then performed the required installations on each Server & Workstation, using the developed test (installation) scripts, followed by the procedural test scripts, to ensure a full end-to-end test was completed. In parallel with each Sprint execution, I reviewed the next components’ ‘User Stories’ and developed the test scripts for the next Sprint. Any defects were raised, assigned, tracked & reported from Microsoft’s Visual Studio Team Foundation Suite (VS TFS). At the end of each Sprint, functional & procedural presentations were performed to the Operations & Business Management and Users.

My ‘hands on’ Test Specialist role covered all aspects of the Project Lifecycle, i.e. Analysis, Test Estimates, System Testing, Interface Testing, UAT Support, Implementation Support & Post Implementation Support on a c# .NET Web based Insurance Underwriting package, with Broker (portal) access to also underwrite Risks. From the outset, I was tasked with reviewing the 3rd party suppliers test coverage, which resulted in setting up the in-house test framework.
