IFS was responsible for the offshore consumer banking and life insurance operations of CBA. As CFO reporting into the CEO and CBA Group CFO, I lead a team of up to eight direct and 160 indirect finance professionals in six countries across Asia and South Africa tasked with reshaping an underperforming, high cost, branch based retail bank, to a leaner digital business. Build Initiatives:• Established the regional finance team based in Hong Kong in 2015 appointing new CFO’s in Vietnam, China, South Africa and Indonesia.• Lead the finance function build for the TymeDigital bank in South Africa including business case preparation, funding strategy, bank licence application, staff appointments, general ledger implementation, and transition to a bank.• Exceeded profit targets every year through sustained cost reductions and strategic divestments.• Represented CBA as Director on (Listed) Vietnam International bank (VIB) for 2 years and Commissioner on First State Investments IndonesiaTransformation and Strategic Divestment:• Initiated cost programs in Indonesia and China in 2017 delivering savings of ~1000 roles through simplification, delayering, functional consolidation and footprint reduction.• Designed & delivered the sale & wind down of CBA’s Mumbai and HCMC branches.• Lead the due diligence for: - CBA’s sale of the China County banks in 2017 - CBA's sale of TymeDigital South Africa in 2018. - CBA’s sale of the insurance business in Indonesia in 2018/9.Closed and exited the CBA Hong Kong IFS head office in December 2019 relocating with the family back to Australia.

International Financial Services Asia (IFS Asia) incorporates the Asian retail and SME banking operations (Indonesia, China, Vietnam and India), investments in Chinese and Vietnamese retail banks, the joint venture Chinese life insurance business and the life insurance operations in Indonesia.

NAB Private Wealth Asia provided financial advisory, wealth protection and asset management solutions to both local HK and expatriate clients. As the executive director, responsibilities included strategy articulation and execution, management of the distribution force & referral channels, audit and regulatory stakeholder management, product & alliance development, compliance, marketing, and financial control of the business.

The Asia Regional CFO responsible for managing a team of 80 staff across six countries. Role evolved to include the responsibility for Asia Operations (COO) and financial responsibility for the NAB’s US subsidiary (GWB) and Asset management business (NabInvest). • A Senior member of the Asia executive committee with dual reporting line to Asia CEO and NAB Group CFO. • A Director on 8 Boards and member of the Asia management board and acting Asia CEO on multiple occasions.• Member of risk management committee, all project control committees, and chair of asset & liability committee.• Responsible for all bank wide finance functions including financial control, strategic planning, tax and profitability.• Senior relationship management with key regional regulators, auditors and tax consultants.• Finance partner to all acquisition opportunities in Asia

The regional CFO for MLC's operations in Asia including Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand. During the time was seconded to the Hong Kong business to be CFO for the joint venture operation responsible for Finance, Actuarial, Legal & Compliance and Internal Audit. Successfully worked through the sale of the MLC business to AXA in 2005 before taking n the National Australia Bank CFO role.

Management of the financial reporting, tax and actuarial functions & ransitioned the MLC Finance function through the integration with the NAB.
