Knowledge Management Assistant
As Knowledge Management Assistant I support the central Knowledge Management team of 10 people as well as 10 Professional Support Lawyers. I am account manager for our current awareness system and therefore prepare and distribute daily current awareness to the whole firm as well as educating people on how to get the best from the system. A large part of my role is to manage the Joiners, Leavers and Transfers process which involves making sure that all information is accurate, people are given the correct access to systems and liaising with third party suppliers about user profiles. As part of my role I have been tasked with engaging the firm with the work of the Knowledge Management team; one way I have done this is by organising, creating and publishing a quarterly KM newsletter, this involves using design software to create interesting publications. Another way is by creating a number of monthly reports which I circulate to the relevant people making sure they are accessible and easy to understand. I maintain the team calendar in outlook as well as managing the logistics of setting up know how meetings, training sessions and other meetings. I have voluntarily taken on the role of organising monthly social events for the team making sure they are interesting, different and appeal to as many people as possible. These vary from a quick lunchtime trip to an independent restaurant to nights out and a Venetian Masquerade for our Christmas Party. I have had to learn to use a number of different systems and processes as I work closely with other team assistants to ensure there is cover for all regular tasks when required. I am first line of support for intranets and extranets which involves creating web pages and articles as well as checking other articles. I am the first point of contact for telephone and email enquires so am able to speak to lots of different people dealing with enquires, requests and complaints as well as know who, and when to ask for support.

Senior Office Assistant – Mortgage Enforcement – October 2014 – PresentI started at TLT in October having been recruited through an agency. From opening new instructions to contacting the court for hearing dates and eviction notices this role entails using set processes to support to the rest of the team. I have also been able to work with our amendment team to suggest changes to the system to make more effective use of our time. As soon as I started I made it clear I wanted to learn as many skills as possible and support the team in any way I could; Because of this I was soon able to support a number of other teams. Initially the Non-Standard Enforcement team, but soon moving to Lender Sales Team where I was then asked to train other Mortgage Enforcement team members so they could also assist Lender Sales. Most recently I have been supporting Business development team where I have worked on Pitch Perfect, tenders, created contact sheets, provided costings for events and created research sheets for Partners. I have had to work on a number of tasks at the same time and had to prioritise work whilst being given more to do on an ad-hoc basis.
