The mission of Microsoft’s Speech & Dialogue Research Group (SDRG) is to make fundamental contributions to advancing the state-of-the-art in speech and language technology both within Microsoft and in the external research community. We work on cutting edge research on the following areas: Speech Recognition, Speech Enhancement, Speaker Recognition/Verification/Diarization, Audio Visual Fusion, Dialogue, and related Natural Language Processing and Applied Machine/Deep Learning in all aspects of spoken language processing. We conduct research by using public benchmarks, which allowed us to achieve a milestone in reaching human parity on the Switchboard conversational speech recognition task, as well as internal data for forward-looking topics such as audio-visual far-field meeting transcription. As the speech and language technology is increasingly becoming an essential element of our daily lives both at work and at home, our research has contributed, and will contribute, to various Microsoft products, such as Windows, Office, Cortana, Xbox, Skype Translator, as well as third party applications through public services.

-Leading the cutting edge AI platform efforts to provide intelligent services for bots, to power Cortana and other agents and bots.-Taking on big initiatives to significantly improve Bing search experience for global markets.-Managing a team of more than 200 scientists and engineers, working on Artificial Intelligence, intent, conversation, speech, Bing web relevance, whole page experience and news.

-Invented and delivered core technologies and cloud services, to enable more efficient and scalable index generation and serving pipelines, data mining, and web-scale storage and computation.-Managed several Bing search projects including storage and computing cloud services, index and knowledge services, and web search quality.--Built a world class engineering team to become core part of the Microsoft Online Service Division

Key developer responsible for the design and implementation of the first version of Windows HPC Server job scheduler.

As one of the early XML technology developers, I worked on XML parser, XSD, XPath. XSLT, and XQuery. Also worked on entity-object mapping technologies. Hold several XML-related patents.
