As Director of College and Community Relations, Michael plays a crucial role in supporting the college’s marketing efforts for recruitment and retention, strengthening community relations and communications, and ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged.

Led the communications, public and media relations and marketing efforts for Smarter Balanced, a value-driven company committed to supporting K-12 educators with tools and resources that help prepare students for college and vibrant careers.

Led strategic planning and implementation of College-wide marketing, branding, and communications efforts, including: integrated awareness and lead-generated advertising campaigns, public and media relations campaigns, creative services, multi-media productions, social media and the SLCC website.

As group account director at R&R Partners, spearheaded strategic planning and client relations for many of R&R Partner’s most prominent accounts including the Utah Transit Authority and University of St. Augustine. Boasting an almost obsessive attention to detail, ensured that every facet of clients’ campaigns worked flawlessly with each other – integrating broadcast, digital, social and non-traditional media into measurable success. Also tasked with improving collaboration and workflow across all of R&R’s nine offices.More than a decade of experience working with public transportation systems coast to coast, and a member of the American Public Transportation Association, the country’s preeminent public transit advocacy organization (served on its marketing committee). Served as a board member and board president for the Utah chapter of the American Advertising Federation.Earlier experience included work on such national accounts as Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, B. Dalton Books, Wilson’s Leather and Panda Express.
