Michael also has prior experience of writing programs in Microsoft Access and Excel to facilitate better finance processes as well as writing sql scripts for data analytics.Michael has been involved in budgeting and forecasting, provision of finance shared services, managing accounting operations (from accounting to financial systems), leading business improvement initiatives relating to existing accounting processes, leading external audit exercises, partnering sales teams as well as regional general managers in the areas of contract review, pricing strategies and customer presentations. Besides leading high performance finance teams, Michael has also worked closely with senior management on pricing strategies for both external customers as well as pricing strategies for pricing of corporate support as well as fleet management services. Michael’s review of existing pricing strategies for external customers provided senior management with insights into the complexities of the existing pricing model and facilitated discussions within the senior management on future pricing practices.Michael also has considerable experience in leading and managing finance transformation projects (inclusive of complex ones e.g. GL restructuring exercise (to enable Line of Business Reporting), Business Intelligence tool implementation) and has strong communications and presentation skills. Besides core accounting experience, Michael also has considerable experience in financial system related initiatives (e.g. BI solution implementation, Expense systems rollout), development of tools and applications using Microsoft Technologies for the Finance function, business process review leading to revamp of financial systems, treasury operations as well as the development of financial controls and procedures within the organisation.
