Jong SZW is the youth association of the ministry of Social Affairs and Employment of the Netherlands. The association is open to all employees of the ministry who are ‘young at heart’. Jong SZW organizes a wide variety of informative, entertaining and sportive events to further the bond of employees with the ministry, promote interaction between its members and create understanding of each other’s field of work as well as that of the ministry in general.

Being responsible for about 20 teams, I assigned trainers and coaches, provided them with guidance and made the selections for the teams. My main goal was to produce proper training and coaching according to the standards of the Dutch national hockey association (KNHB) for the junior teams.

Stichting MEE is a not-for-profit Dutch organization funded, among others, by the Dutch government to support the mentally and physically challenged in all aspects of life. During this internship I adviced MEE on how to take part in the Centre for Youth and Family started by the municipality of Waalwijk.

The municipality of Sint-Michielsgestel in the Netherlands requested a survey of the activities organized for and/or by its youth. Furthermore, to tackle problems of vandalism and a large number of idle youth, the municipality wanted to increase participation of youth in politics and decision making in order to let their voices be heard.
