I lead the two "Core" teams at Cart.com, where we provide services common to all the business units at Cart. These include authorization and identity management, orders, shipping, notification, and communication. Our services are written in .Net (C#) and Node (Nest.JS), are containerized, and deployed to Kubernetes with PostgreSQL databases in GKE. Our APIs are consumed from React front-ends using GraphQL endpoints. Our services maintain data consistency with the rest of the organization using Apache Kafka.

Tidel (a subsidiary of Sesami) manufactures connected safes and cash recyclers that large retailers use to manage and optimize their inventories and cash handling. I was responsible for all software R&D at Tidel, which was comprised of three teams containing a total of 16 engineers and 2 development managers Our main technologies included Azure IoT, SQL Server, and WPF. I oversaw a migration to Scrum, Git, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps pipelines. I introduced automated unit testing and standardized, rigorous peer code reviews.

DVTD (formerly Premier Designs) was an on-line marketplace where every product purchased gave back to selected causes. As the VP of Information Technology, I was responsible for our servers, network, security, data, ERP and software development. I provided daily updates to the rest of the executive team where I clearly and concisely communicated progress, risks and goals. I developed and oversaw the multi-million-dollar annual IT budget. I mentored and led the IT managers to ensure their teams were focused, engaged and improving. I was constantly evaluating our technologies and processes to ensure that we were agile, secure, efficient, ready for change and responsive to risks. Unfortunately, DVTD ceased operations in Dec, 2020.
