I have over 40 years in the safety, health, and environmental services. 5 Talents Training and Management has been our family business for years and has grown from a simple safety training company to one that conducts audits, performs inspections and provides leadership training for fortune 500 companies, Government Agencies, and business of all sizes. My background started with 21 years in the Air Force and progressed from working as a State Inspector, Special State Fire Marshal, College Instructor (for 20 years) to Author/Editor, and consultant. Having written regulations for the government myself and trained many inspectors, I decided that helping companies understand the regulations was more important than just enforcing them. I took my knowledge of general industry, construction, environmental management, leadership, and the oil /gas industry and coupled it with 20 years of training adults for New Mexico Junior College, Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, University of Arizona, and Texas A&M (TEEX). What developed was training that workers could understand, apply, and explain to others. I have developed over 50 different classes over the years that have been taught to well over 10,000 students nationwide. Developing a qualified workforce is the cornerstone of what we do. We train employees on how to do their job better, safer, and quicker. Our certificate courses document worker abilities and helps the employer identify skilled labor. They also help employees present credentials identifying their skill level or mastery. Finally, many companies need help in establishing leadership skills for their supervisors. My background in the military and training derived from industry leaders such as Zig Ziglar, John Maxwell, Simon Sinek, and Stephen Covey, have aided me in developing leadership training that teaches individuals how to be better employees, supervisors, and corporate leaders. We focus on managing resources, not just telling workers what to do and hoping for the best.
