 Implemented new company wide framework for reporting gains & losses on commodity positions that was adopted by traders. In doing so, I developed a model in VBA to automatically pull position, activity, and pricing files to report on the profit and losses on open positions from price fluctuations and FX. Acted as team lead in collaboration with IT and accounting teams to migrate reporting model into an enterprise reporting system & assisted with monthly accounting and performance reports.

 Proactive creation, maintenance, & documentation of several models in VBA to automate routine analyses, ad-hoc reporting, PowerPoint presentations, sending emails in Outlook, and validation of input files received from custodians, fund accountants, futures commission merchants, and banks.  Creation and validation of trade recommendations for execution of dynamic hedging strategy for Managed Volatility funds and the Milliman Managed Risk Strategy (MMRS) for variable annuity & pension clients. Process involved implementation and thorough understanding of Black-Scholes-Merton framework, collaboration with traders to ensure funds were traded within their constraints and mandates, accounting for trade & settlement activity, and debugging models in a high-pressure environment. Daily, weekly, monthly, & quarterly client reporting on effect of risk management strategy, gains & losses realized on derivatives transactions, peer-group analysis relative to other strategies, and net portfolio allocations with effect of derivative instruments. Communicated with clients to provide updates on performance or resolve issues as needed. Creation and evaluation of back-tests to interpret effects of strategy parameter changes on variables such as max draw-down, Sharpe ratio, max volatility, and expected return.

 Developed a new reporting model to streamline management reporting process for senior executives and board of directors; reduced process time by 10 hours per iteration. Reports created via SQL interface (Lyza Studio), Excel/VBA, & SAP. Reports quantified profitability of business segments, and explained profitability drivers such as FX.  Analysis & communication with commercial business stakeholders to assist in pricing, evaluate customer & lane profitability, and for business planning decisions around network expansion. Independently and collaboratively developed several large enhancements to the business' cost assignment framework to improve accuracy. Co-led a large-scale information systems project pertaining to in-sourcing functions performed by a data hosting 3rd party. Savings of $200,000 annually were realized as a result of the first stages of the in-sourcing. Validation of internal database source files for monthly production processes. Production process also entailed creation of treasury, accounting and operational files.
