Mike is recognized as a dynamic Executive Leader with extensive experience in developing and implementing enterprise solutions and building strong strategic alliances. Track record of success in orchestrating large-scale projects across industries and Federal, State and local government. He is known for his strategy development and execution to achieve organizational goals. After 28 years as a Hennepin County Commissioner Mike founded Acuity, LLC. As a Principal Consultant he is working with North Memorial Health leadership to evaluate opportunities for growth within their healthcare service areas. While Chair of the Medical Center Governing Board, Mike, initiated efforts to modernize governance of HCMC and its operated clinics by convening a bi-partisan Governance Task Force. The Group recommended the Hennepin Health System (HHS) governance model which gained legislative support. As a former Hennepin County Commissioner, Mike represented District 1 that includes more than 170,000 residents in six suburban cities in Hennepin County with an annual budget of $2.1 billion.Mike led the effort to finance and build Target Field, home to the Minnesota Twins. Target Field was named the nation’s Number 1 sports venue by both ESPN Magazine. He also worked to create complimentary real estate development with United Properties, specifically Parcel A, a new Live Nation venue and boutique hotel located at Target Field Station, scheduled to open 2020. Mike has led many transformational transportation projects. He is leading the county's effort to build the Bottineau Light Rail project – the $1.54 billion project will connect five cities from downtown Minneapolis to the City of Brooklyn Park. He also chairs the county’s Public Works Energy and Environment Committee. He helped to create the Hennepin Youth Sports Grants program, which has awarded more than $19.6 million in excess funds from the construction of Target Field. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Innodata (Nasdaq: INOD) and on the audit committee. He has served on the Board of Directors for Sun Country Airlines, as Secretary, and the Alerus Financial Regional Advisory Board, assisting them to move into the Greater MSP market.
