Cisco Secure Boot checks that every piece of software is checked for authenticity, including the very first instructions that run. Digitally-signed images and – increasingly – quantum-secure Hash-based Signatures (HBS) and One-time Signatures (OTS) are employed.Cisco Secure Boot is now offered on 3000+ and ever-increasing number of different Cisco products. It is more difficult to defeat than the industry-standard Secure Boot methodologies that may be defeated by chip-replacement attacks. • Developed processes and methodologies for protecting Hardware Description Language (HDL). • Invented Cisco Trade Secret for protecting aspects of that technology and created processes for reducing insider threat.

This was International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) work.• Led verification for integrated circuits for TSAT (government satellite router), a classified router and a military-grade mobile router. • Pioneered using Jenkins as a CI/CD DevOps mechanism to automate integrated circuit and associated system verification at Cisco, a capability that is still being used today.
