See the link provided below for details. It is a very intensive study program through which to become certified as a MLS. I spent most of my time studying. It proved to be a very interesting and rewarding program resulting in my being hired by Parkview Health.

I started out being trained on company Standard Operating Procedures and quickly moved on to being trained for Environmental Monitoring. This involved taking active air samples, setting out passive air plates, and taking contact samples at specified sites throughout the facility. During this time I was also trained on water filtration testing for bio-burden as well as the Growth Promotion, Sterility, and pH testing of all incoming media. I was further trained on Microbial Identification via both Gram Staining and use of a BIOLog Microbial ID System. After demonstrating complete competency for these methods, my primary responsibility became Microbial Enumeration Testing for all contract drugs sent to the Bryan, Ohio, facility from other locations. I was concurrently trained to assist with testing on all raw materials, in-process and finished products made in-house.My main responsibility became the tracking, scheduling, and testing of all incoming contract products. I was also the active trainer for contract MET testing and Gram Stain testing. Furthermore, I assisted with the testing of in-house products (Liquid Orals, Creams), Environmental Testing, Water Filtration testing, Microbial Identification testing, Growth Promotion testing, pH testing, and documentation review as I was able.I received training on Validation Testing and Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing but was unable to become fully proficient due to accepting placement in Parkview's CLS program. Helped make Excel sheets of information to better organize data.Helped extrapolate data from graphs for a nursing report.Accessed patient records in a computer database in order to recover lost information and complete current medical forms.
