As a proficient Automation and Performance Engineer, I grasp the complexity of difficult systems. I was responsible for the design of and implementation of an automated end to end test for the Appliances resulting in less than 0.5% downtime because of upgrades. I also designed a complex Performance test that included 20 temporary nodes and could return data in a day versus a week. I was also responsible for training new employees on how our products worked and generally helped them when they were blocked. With 7 years of hands on experience in technical support, 2 years of project management engineering, and a BS in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University, I have gained crucial engineering knowledge and experience with designing, building, and troubleshooting digital circuits, developing and testing hardware written in Verilog, developing Object-Oriented programs in C++, and writing technical documentation. As a Manager/Engineer on a web database project, I was able to expand the functionality and usability of the database by teaching my teammates how to use the .NET programming environment. This allowed our team to exceed the projects original requirements. Before releasing the software I also administered rigorous testing methods that ensured the final product was bug free and functioned accurately. This extra work allowed me to practice my project manager skills while also learning how to develop web based applications.I have always been an active leader amongst my colleagues. I am a self-motivated, efficient, passionate, and an adaptable person; I excel working on projects requiring teamwork but also thoroughly enjoy working independently. By combining my professional experience with my Engineering education, I feel I can be a major contributor for your engineering or project management team.Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.Specialties: C++/C, VB and C# programing experienceVHDL digital designEmbedded Systems design

Cloud Solution ArchitectMaana Jun 2018 - Feb 2019Palo Alto, Ca, UsWorked with Azure CLI to produce Azure infrastructure that not only was reproducible but could be shared across business groups was able in a 2-week windowUsed Ansible, Docker, Ambari and Python Scripting to reproduce software stacks automating tasks that once took a month or more to installing the software in less than 2 working daysWorked with internal IT and multiple oil & gas business groups to reduce the down time of a critical system from 4 weeks to 1 week. Thus resurrecting an old proof of concept that was only 10% of the way done over the course of 4 months. The process now can be repeated in 2 working days.Used Ansible to procure Azure and VMware infrastructure including creation of user accounts and setting privileges for specific users. This reduced the amount of resources needed to produce working software stacks.Helped lead the charge to push development software from a proof of concept to production and finished the project 2 weeks early.Tools Used: Azure, Scripting (Python, Ruby, Perl, bash, Ansible), Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Azure CLI, Gluster, Hadoop, RedHat Linux, Debian Cloud Solution, VMWare -
Senior Engineer & Automation EngineerAlertlogic Jan 2016 - Apr 2017• As a team lead, I trained incoming members with a high-level overview of the product. • Coordinated with a technical writer to document the team's internal knowledge and provided self-service how-to guides. • Brainstormed and developed innovative solutions with other team developers to better facilitate our processes. • Improved the automated testing process to include checking for versions and back end services to isolate the problem with the infrastructure vs. appliance testing • Invented a new automated performance capturing system that would read better system metrics and isolated a major bug in the appliance. Also, created a better stepping performance generation system and the two systems together showed that a previously caught issue was now a better solution.
-
Senior Quality Engineer LeadAlert Logic Jun 2013 - Jan 2016• Used Python to use Amazon Cloud Formation to automatically deploy testable and repeatable environment. This includes all aspects of network security in an automated fashion. • Designed the quality strategy for a group of 11+ engineers • Created a test framework to assess the integration of software integrity, which replaces a simple query that only checked for correct setup in CHEF, the infrastructure automation tool. • Fixed 85% of migration issues by automating a test framework that validated the systems and resulted in the team to finishing 5 weeks before the go live date. • Increased performance metrics by 350% of the intrusion detection system (IDS) • Decreased loss of work time to less than 1% due to build system down time by creating a multiple repository system allowing developers to have a separate system for test builds
-
Build And Automation EngineerVolt Jan 2012 - May 2013Buffalo, New York, Us• Work with a worldwide engineering team designing and maintaining build and automated testing environments• Enhanced the automated testing platform by moving it to a centralized file server, improving system logging, and providing better NTSF mounting options which increased the system reliability and reduced human intervention• Automated the bug reporting system metrics to generate a report in 10 minutes and eliminate a manual two hour task -
Release EngineerObjectivity Aug 2011 - Jan 2013San Jose, California, Us• Conducted daily maintenance of 13 different build environments (6 Unix and 5 Windows) to assure reliability, space management and overall health of the environment• Created Python and PERL scripts to automate Windows and Unix builds including cleaning build space and making repeatable build environments• Used Imake and Make to build releases• Wrote the new Install Builder bill of materials system which allows the build team to develop an installation protocol based on component build trees. This would then allow customers to create their own installation packages without having to create new independent installer• Developed an automated reporting system with immediate notification to the engineers to facilitate correction of issues• Studied how to move the non-continuous build environment in a continuous space. Included moving a 3rd party library to a build On Demand system -
Qa EngineerShotspotter Jun 2006 - Jun 2011Fremont, California, Us• Established and manage an engineering change order (ECO) process.• Responsible for the release process of a complex system that includes Windows-based software, embedded software and hardware. Worked with distributed and interdisciplinary teams on alpha and beta test phases. Drove the schedule to achieve timely system releases.• Designed test cases and maintained the test matrix. Identified issues and worked with the engineers to resolve them.• Virtualized the test environment to speed up testing in multiple OS environments and to allow testing against a clean machine during each test cycle.• Reviewed available operating systems for software and database viability. Determined cost of adding operating system support in terms of impact to operations department and test schedule.• Created and maintained the test lab. Designed and implemented specialized test hardware for verifying of embedded software.• Created automation test scripts in Visual Basic. -
