About Michael Carter

Director, Strategic Advisor, Executive Coach, MentorI am a fixer. I help people find a way to get what they want. I started doing this over 40 years ago when I helped the Carter administration with legislation to combat terrorism. I then helped IBM scientists find humanists to show their PC could help "the rest of us," and Steve Jobs to put the original Macintosh in the hands of hundreds of thousands of college students who had been chained to mainframes. I helped Mike Smith at Hewlett Foundation foster the Open Education movement; Julia Stasch, Connie Yowell, Peter Lyman, and Mimi Ito create the digital media and learning discipline. Since then I have curated teams of professors, instructors, trainers, designers, engineers, artists, media mavens, and project and product managers and then helped them create exemplary offerings in the field of learning across all ages and disciplines.I now help enterprises, incubators, social impact funds, and startups on six continents change the landscape of learning.
