Assisted in the performance of reconnaissance operations. Followed direction and orders of seniors. Employed, fired, and recovered weapons, arms, and mines. Operated, mounted, dismounted, zeroed, and engaged targets using assigned weapon systems and night vision sights. Operated and maintained communications equipment and operated a radio as a combat radio telephone operator. Performed duties as a member of a fire team during movements to contact, reconnaissance, security missions, attacks, defenses, and situational training exercises. Demonstrated excellence and technical proficiency by earning the Expert Infantry Badge after the successful completion of a highly challenging multi-day proficiency course wherein only 74 of the 683 participants were able to succeed and earn the award. Secured and processed prisoners of war and captured documents. Maintained physical security at enemy combatant holding areas. Ensured the safety, welfare, and proper treatment of captured enemy combatants. Performed first aid, CPR, and other life saving measures, as necessary. Called for aero-medical evacuation of casualties and facilitated the transfer of patients to medical personnel. Served as technical expert and small arms repairer for an infantry rifle company. Responsible for the proper storage, security, functioning and operational readiness of approximately $1.3 million worth of arms and sensitive combat equipment.
