I'm a zealous advocate for people in all the software I build. Whether it's the end-user of a web application, a developer using an API, or the next team member on my project, I'm fanatical about improving the experience of every person touched by software. As a leader, I seek out opportunities to work on teams that inspire me so that I can inspire and support my team. I prefer to build trust through open communication and action. I believe teams work best when every member is willing to bear the load of any task, while also keeping in mind that individual interests and skill sets differ. I believe pragmatism is crucial for delivery, and I believe with the right choices, that doesn't have to be an obstacle. As a developer, I'm language agnostic. Speed and stability are a key component of the software experience, and I'm highly skilled at picking up new technologies when the circumstances are right. My experience has been heavily focused on all things Ruby and Javascript — including Rails and React, but I've also led teams on projects using other libraries and languages, like ElasticSearch, Clojure, and Scala, for instance.
