- U.S. Export Assistance CenterLead and manage a new network of six offices and 25 staff to promote export opportunities to a diverse client base, especially the new to export companies, in the mid-Atlantic region. Key Successes: Increased by 5-10% annually the number of companies from Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC that exported. Launched an extensive outreach program to small, rural companies throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. Built and maintained very effective business/personal relationships with key trade partners in the region.

- Private Sector Officer Direct all operations, manage staff and contractors, and interact with host government officials to ensure the successful implementation of multimillion dollar infrastructure, microenterprise, and community-building projects in Egypt and Honduras, including low income housing, municipal water/wastewater systems for three cities, and loan programs for hundreds of entrepreneurs. Key Successes: Implemented the final building phase and close-out of the construction management and construction contracts of an $80 million, 4,000 unit housing project in Cairo. Designed and supervised the start-up phase of a $110 million rural water and sanitation project in Egypt. Initiated a $10 million microenterprise loan program through community associations in Honduras and implemented a training program for Central Bank officials. Supervised a $5 million grant to the Honduras investment attraction agency to increase investment in Honduras.

Reporting to the President and Board Treasurer, responsible for all chief operating officer functions, directing marketing, accounting, personnel, and facility maintenance departments. Key Successes: Reversed deficits and achieved financial sustainability for this $7MM, residential education 501.c.3. Initiated fundraising for scholarships and capital development. Introduced new accounting, procurement and inventory systems as well as establishing its first operational policies and procedures. Conducted feasibility studies for new campuses (it now has five) in the National Park System.
