Managed an annual operations budget of $6.8m and 2011 project spend of $6.2m. Primary client point of contact for outsourcing contractors who provide day-to-day operations of the field telecommunications services including Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, PBXs, IP Telephony, handheld radios, point-to-point microwave radios, fiber optic infrastructure and paging infrastructure. Translated business objectives into technical deliverables and communicated technical issues and constraints to the customer management and user communities. Defined annual project requirements and work with the outsourced project managers and project office to ensure successful delivery of those project commitments. Provided both a business and technical perspective in the review and management of projects.

Manage the Operations & Maintenance group responsible for Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, PBXs, IP Telephony, Motorola Harmony radio, microwave radios, fiber optic infrastructure and paging infrastructure across the BP-operated oil fields on Alaska’s North Slope. Interfaced with the Engineering Director, Project Office, individual project managers and engineers to ensure the successful delivery of telecommunications projects to BP. Review project proposals and documentation to ensure they reflect operational requirements. Coordinated the handover of installed systems from Projects and Engineering to Operations and Maintenance.

Managed BP’s global portfolio of telecommunications contracts, covering over 1500 suppliers and approximately $170m worth of annual spend.

Managed the IT group responsible for operation of the IT infrastructure for BP’s Chicago oil trading group. This group was responsible for LAN, WAN, SAN, Windows & Unix Servers, Telephony (including trader turrets and voice recording/archiving), Middleware and on-site data center infrastructure.
