I am a Graduate Mechanical Engineer currently working at Jacobs in the nuclear sector. I have previously completed summer placements at Wood Nuclear during which I led my own project to design, manufacture, test and present an innovative remote deployment mechanism for decommissioning old nuclear cells. I was also completed design commission work for Sellafield and a detailed design and commercial plan for the development of a new remote operated vehicle. I hold a First Class Mechanical Engineering degree from Durham University.I have been competing in combat robotics since a very young age, through which I have won many awards such as 10 championship titles including Fighting Robots Association World Championship and Robot Wars Champion, the latter of which was broadcast on BBC2. This has given me extensive experience in project management, design, public speaking and practical skills.

I designed and manufactured a prototype, followed by a full-scale device which I demonstrated and presented to the clients.- I successfully created a detailed design and commercial plan to construct a new ROV (remote operated vehicle) which will be used for searching and decommissioning old nuclear cells.- I was responsible for design consultancy work for Sellafield, in which I designed a safe and convenient storage solution for hazardous nuclear waste.- I modified a large-scale ROV for remote operation, which involved implementing an on-board camera, modifying top attachments for ease of operation and testing, before assisting with a live demonstration.- Other work including: design and setup of a virtual reality operations platform, testing of an inflatable support structure and deployment and operation of manipulator arms. -
