Implemented XenServer P2V virtualization of Windows, Linux, and legacy Netware servers as part of a server consolidation program that reduced IT operational expenditures by 20% while increasing network security and data throughput. Recommended and documented a corporate disaster recovery plan that was subsequently adopted and implemented.Conducted vulnerability and penetration testing of client-facing infrastructure that identified 12 “severe” and 20 “high priority” vulnerabilities, and took appropriate action to mitigate them in collaboration with the web development team.Monitored and automated nightly tape backups of data from our datacenter site to our office site using self-written Linux scripts. Automated the process of compiling SMTP traps and logs from Linux and Windows machines into a daily report, with alerts sent upon generation of critical traps. Managed/administered Windows Active Directory and OpenLDAP. Implemented multiple software and hardware upgrades. Created images suitable for rollout to new workstations and servers. Administered Citrix XenApp farms and monitored deployments. Implemented an NFS shared storage solution as part of the virtualization project.
