Over the past 30+ years, I have been deeply involved in the product development industry. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Product Design at Syracuse University, I started my career as an Industrial Designer and gained valuable knowledge through my experiences in all aspects of product development. Prior to Beyond Design in 1994, I worked in product planning for Sony Corporation and in product design at Thomson Consumer Electronics. In addition to Beyond Design, I also started and own Yummy Designs – a firm that enables me to take my own ideas through production and stay connected to different aspects of the consumer market. To date, my entrepreneur spirit has led me to one of my proudest accomplishments, the creation of The Ultimate Hanger® and the BuzzBrush®, both which continue to exceed my expectations.In addition to the love of running my own company, I also have a strong desire to teach students about product development. Since the company’s inception, we have always been committed to helping students and have offered internship programs to students from universities around the world including the China, England, France, Italy, Germany, South Korea, Sweden, Turkey and the USA.As an initiative to introduce our youth to all aspects of product development, I was able to create two programs at a Chicago Public School (CPS), one was dig-8 that was centered around 8th grade students and the second is NPD-101 that is for 10th through 12th grade students. Through these programs, I have been able to teach students all about the product development process and what it takes to design and market a product. Being that I didn't learn about industrial design until college, it was a really great experience to introduce 8th-12th grade students to a field that makes an impact on so many lives.
