As an associate director at ESPN's Stats & Information Group, I work with our SIG Content, Stats & Analysis, Analytics, and Content Integration departments. I help oversee SIG Content's staff of 75 content researchers, BottomLine editors and managers, including 20 who report to me or one of the managers reporting to me.Primary duties: Staff management, content production oversight, sports betting/fantasy lead, digital/social media steward, sponsorships.Production oversight: - Oversee live production to ensure SIG delivers differentiating stat-based content in response to breaking news and live events.- Coordinate short- and long-term planning, coaching staff members to maximize dozens of custom databases and research tools. Share SIG's content plans with leaders across ESPN's platforms, sales, programming and more.Team leadership:- Primary lead of SIG's Sports Betting and Fantasy Team, working across departments to identify needs for storytelling in a rapidly evolving landscape. Helped integrate ESPN's Caesars deal to maximize sports betting stories for TV, social and digital content. Developed a sports betting editorial calendar.- Evaluate the leadership of 20 sport-specific groups in SIG to ensure we're positioned to deliver content for events that repeat during the sports calendar or emerging storylines. For example, I helped craft the coverage to James Harden's scoring outbreak in January 2019, asking the team to go beyond historical analysis to tap player-tracking data.Digital/social media liaison:- Deliver guidance and feedback to SIG staff members contributing to social accounts run by SIG and across the company.- Steer storylines for stats-based images that appear in the ESPN app's feed.Sponsorship:- Devise sponsorship opportunities that intertwine our team's content with advertisers' messaging. SIG's impact to campaigns exceed $20 million annually, including nearly $1 million attributed to SIG's @ESPNStatsInfo Twitter feed.

Scoured Google Analytics and other sources for daily, weekly and quarterly data that helped the editorial team produce compelling content and adjust content to grow the audience. In addition to user analytics work, I managed the assignments of a team that included copy editors, Web producers and designers.

Writer and editor for Hoopville.com for more than 10 years. I was in charge of recruiting and managing Hoopville's network of sports writers and bloggers. I also generated content for several Division I conferences, especially the ACC. At Hoopville's peak, I edited or wrote 15-20 articles per week. To enhance our data-driven storytelling, I devised a player rating system that facilitated pace-adjusted analysis of players.
