Michael is a senior attorney with the Small Business/Self-Employed Division of the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Phoenix, AZ, where he concentrates on tax controversy and bankruptcy. Michael's practice has spanned a broad array of areas from the litigation and resolution of cases in the United States Tax Court to representing the United States government in bankruptcy court as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) to advising on complex international tax audits involving both tax and foreign bank account reporting (FBAR) issues. Michael also has experience working with the Large Business and International and Criminal divisions of the Chief Counsel's office, providing advice related to complex corporate transactions and criminal tax investigations. In his free time, Michael serves as adjunct faculty for Ashford University, teaching upper-level criminal law and criminal procedure classes to criminal justice majors.
