I am a very self-motivated individual who loves to work with people and enjoys finding better ways to do things. There is always a better way and Continuous Improvement drives my day to day life inside work as well as outside. I love working in manufacturing because of the importance of Continuous Improvement. Books like The Goal, The Toyota Way, and The Machine that Changed the World are books I regularly listen to on the way to and from work just to get my mind thinking about Manufacturing. Listening to them on the way to work helps get my mindset thinking about Manufacturing and Process Improvement, as well as listening to some of these books several times I learn new things each time. I really enjoy what I do and I think it shows and helps me work better with CO-Workers and Employees. Another one of my positive traits is that I do not give up, I may fail when trying a new idea but that is just the start. What tweaks can be made and what can we do differently to make this work better? I am a great leader who listens, I emphasize that because there are a lot of managers who I think can get aggravated when Employees tell them ideas or “how we should do things”. Creating a great team embodies listening to your employees and recognizing them for their ideas and successes. I think a lot of managers also have a hard time towing the line of being a likeable manager with being a stern manager. I feel like I walk that line very well. Holding employees accountable not only shows employees that you are serious about the company’s rules but also shows the employees that follow the rules that you respect them. I think a lot of good employees can sour on a company by seeing others continually break rules while nothing is said or done. I am very competitive and I love pushing myself to figure out root causes. The goal everyday is to improve upon yourself. A lot of people just go to work to collect a paycheck but since of accomplishment is overlooked. I may have stress during the day, but stress is a great driver. At the end of the day when looking back and reflecting on how everything went and how I reacted to those situations I feel a great sense of accomplishment. This is what makes work fun to me. I love to see what a difference I can make each and every day.
