In middle school, I got my first computer, igniting my love of technology. My freshman year in college, I took my first CSIS course with an engaging professor. Technology was interesting, and it made me want to constantly learn more. It came easily to me, and it made sense. That just sealed the deal.I pride myself on being a generalist with broad knowledge and skills in multiple areas. This helps me see situations from various perspectives and recognize that there may be numerous ways to solve the same problem. Because I can be thrown into the middle of any situation, make sense of it, and find a way out, I am the go-to resource for addressing complex issues that span teams or organizations. What I love about my job is the ability to continue learning because technology is constantly changing. There is no better place to apply technology than the healthcare sector. It is important to me that the results of my work make a difference. One achievement I’m most proud of is being part of the core leadership team responsible for winning the Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization contract awarded by the Department of Defense. During this time, I initiated the process of making Cerner solutions accessible to users with disabilities.WHAT OTHERS SAY:Keith Huffman, Senior Director, Cerner, on my ability to learn quickly and deliver results: I just knew the job would get done correctly and in a timely manner. It did not matter if the project required new and/or "new to you" technology/languages, you would figure it out. This was the case with CCL and also with Discern Expert. You always had time to help out others when they were struggling to do the same. (well, all of the orchestration not just testing!) You took it upon yourself to learn the relevant RQM functionality and workflows right out of the gate. As we worked through the various decision points, and challenges and brainstormed on potential approaches/desired functionality, you had a great ability to take it all in and in short order articulate some initial thoughts. You would follow that up with a demonstrated ability of deeper analysis and problem-solving. Knowledge and focus towards writing efficient code - gives thought to how tools affect performance of the systems they interact with and continually evaluates options for optimizing code, even if it means undesirable rework.
