Responsibilities also include the leadership of spacecraft structural and payload mechanical manufacturing work cells: electrical discharge machining (EDM), electroformed antenna products, and silk screen masking of solder-on covers for macroelectronics package closeout.Core competencies include producibility review and interpretation of detailed drawings, tool design and manufacturing, material handling and kitting, shelf-life control and recertification, 3- and 4-axis machining of a variety of microelectronic substrates, precision cleaning, deburring, surface preparation, electronic feedthrough glassing, plating bakeout, and housing feedthrough soldering.Primary functional responsibilities include generating staffing plans based on program headcount projections (i.e. shop load assessments), collaborating with Talent Acquisition to interview and hire candidates, facilitating performance management goal planning, conducting employee performance and compensation reviews, promoting leadership training opportunities, enhancing team engagement via annual employee engagement survey participation and action planning, and ensuring personnel and hardware safety. Functional manager responsible for a composites and paint lab comprising two shifts of 20+ employees who perform a variety of duties assisting mechanical engineers in the development, fabrication, tooling, qualification, evaluation, testing, and sell-off of advanced composite spacecraft structures, sub-systems, and detail components.Composites core competencies include interpretation of detailed drawings, tool design, prepreg material handling, shelf-life control and recertification, part layup and bagging to a variety of molds, cocuring / cobonding / secondary bonding, working with precured laminates, autoclave and oven cure processes, honeycomb panel layup and assembly, secondary trimming, drilling, and bonding using complex assembly fixtures.Paint core competencies include substrate-driven surface preparation procedures, masking, priming for bonding and paint, application of passive and active thermal control and ESD coatings, working with chemicals, proper usage and storage of PPE, and maintenance of personnel certifications.

Primary roles and responsibilities include program planning / management, technology and manufacturing readiness level (TRL/MRL) maturation, materials evaluation, process scale-up, supplier evaluation, risk identification / management / mitigation, and execution of complex technical programs in the MRL 4-6 range that improve bottom-line performance for programs of record and promote top-line growth.Departmental subject matter expert in the field of standardization, characterization, and qualification of metallic powder-bed additive manufacturing (AM) including both laser and electron beam melting, large-scale directed energy deposition of metals, fused deposition modeling of high-temperature, loaded composite materials, and powder-bed laser sintering of high-temperature thermoplastics.Served as either the principal or the supplemental investigator in 15+ internal research and development (IRAD) programs valued at $6M and 9 contracted research and development (CRAD) programs valued at $11M.
