My role in the Studio Department of Media Scotland producing advertising, promotions and editorial supplements for a wide range of Trinity Mirror publications and marketing media.Working closely with the Media Scotland sales teams my role was to provide, design and create artwork, from brief through to print, for clients who advertised within the pages of all our titles including Daily Record and all its regional titles, such as the East Kilbride News and Wishaw Press. Work for the sales team would involve anything from prospective visuals, to adverts, advertorials, web graphics, factsheets and supporting materials.Working alongside the marketing department work also involved producing promotional material including supplements, factsheets, brochures, press adverts, evening programmes, posters, flyers, sales/media packs, presentation slides and large scale branding.

Giffnock

The design of various adverts for the publication of two fortnightly newspapers along with helping in the prep and production of the pages for print.

Working in the studio department of Scottish & Universal newspapers I design and create artwork for promotions, client adverts, logos, property advertisements and other associated materials for the wide range of newspaper titles the company produces. As well as the weekly newspaper titles, our company also produces various supplements and guide books which I contribute to.

Design advert, produce property advertisements, plan classified sections in over 15 different newspapers and work as part of a team in sending the papers to print.

Designed and produced the monthly magazine 'Engineering', at first in a team with an expansion of responsibilites as the years progressed. I also contributed to the design and production of its sister title 'New Design', worked and updated the companies various websites and worked on all promo materials.

East Kilbride

Through my student years I worked in the Auldhouse Arms just outside East Kilbride. Starting off as a kitchen porter I soon moved through to the Restaurant as a waiter and bartender and the adjoining Auldhouse Arms public bar as part-time Bartender. The work could be very busy at times and hard work but was always enjoyable and lively. The job was not only a good working and learning experience but it also helped pay my way through Art School.
