Advising 13 young Hawaiians plaintiffs and Our Children’s Trust in Navahine F., et al. v. Department of Transportation, State of Hawai’i, et al. Litigation resulted in a settlement agreement in June 2024 that followed key recommendations for specific actions and accountability that were outlined in my expert report to the judge. This precedent-setting agreement will remain judicially enforceable until 2045 or until the transport sector of Hawaii is fully decarbonized.

Initiated Bikes Not Bombs campaign that sent 10,000 bicycles to Nicaragua to support health and education projects and provide seed capital, training, and development of a still-continuing private bicycle assembly industry in Nicaragua (1984-90). Launched successful effort to get World Bank to focus on non-motorized transportation problems of low income people world-wide (1985-95).
