About Michael Grant

Michael Grant is a veteran editorial experience designer with over 20 years of experience in print and web design. He is the CEO and founder of Get Current Studio, a creative agency that guides BIPOC-owned, nonprofit, and local newsrooms through digital transformations.He is passionate about helping local publishers and BIPOC-owned media embrace emerging technologies and enhance their audience engagement and content strategy. He also serves as a board member of the Center for Collaborative Journalism at Mercer University and a former teaching fellow at Google News Lab.As a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University, he explored digital readiness among ethnic media publishers and methods for strengthening technology adoption. He has led digital projects at the San Francisco Chronicle, the Star Tribune, and the San Francisco Business Times. He is also the proud leader of the HBCU Digital Media Fellowship, which aims to strengthen student understanding of online journalism.
