Telling stories and juggling projects across disciplines kept me busy through frigid winter powder days and steamy Vermont summers. During my tenure at Killington, I made major press moments out of hosting the first FIS Ski World Cup in New England in 25 years (PR chair of local organizing committee), The Longest Season in the East (opening first in the east every October and turning ski lifts through Memorial Day or June 1 every season), plus the launch of a new era of enhanced four-season operations including the rebirth of the Killington Bike Park (check out #beast365 on Instagram). These efforts and others won awards including Best Overall Marketing Campaign from the National Ski Areas Association and the Governor's Award for Environmental Excellence from Ski Vermont.As publicist and spokesman for both resorts I worked with top tier journalists and bloggers from around the world to share important stories of Eastern North America's most impressive four-season destination. I spun tag lines, pitched insider stories, stuffed marketing materials with puns, supervised outside comms agencies, assisted with snow reporting, email marketing and event production -- and most importantly, consistently communicated brand values across platforms and seasons to attract and better serve guests to The Beast of the East. Under my supervision, social media channels for Killington Resort, Killington Parks and Pico Mountain were truly social. By maintaining a constant dialogue with our loyal fans, locals, adventure seekers, weather nerds and the wider outdoor-enthusiast community, we amassed the East's largest and most stoked online following, and they knew to expect real-time operations updates, trendsetting visual content, major announcements and mind-blowing storytelling.
