Responsible for management of quality engineers, supervisors, documentation/data clerk and inspectors/technicians. Provided hands-on floor support for manufacturing quality issues and improvements. Implemented electronic quality management system for tracking, trending and reporting of non-conformances and corrective/preventive actions. Transitioned company from quality management system based on ISO 9001:1994 standard to system aligned with the current ISO 9001:2008 standard in, including redevelopment of quality manual and all core ISO procedures. Developed ISO training materials and conducted ISO and quality systems training of employees and management. Attained ISO 9001:2008 registration in late 2014 with no findings during registration audit. Re-registered to the current ISO 9001:2015 standard in late 2017, again with no findings. Provided all process development and manufacturing engineering for surface mount, through-hole and box build assembly. Evaluated and implemented new processes for soldering of high temperature alloys. Revised process router format to reduce assembly errors, and reviewed/approved work instructions for all new product. Developed automated processes to improve quality and increase throughput. Additional concurrent responsibilities as Manufacturing Manager for eight month period, with twenty direct reports.

Responsible for manufacturing, process and equipment engineering for OEM manufacturer of electro-mechanical products serving geophysical exploration. Improved product quality and throughput with introduction of automated assembly equipment and processes to replace labor intensive manual methods. Documented all assembly processes via formal work instructions. Reviewed, qualified and implemented new process materials to reduce costs and increase quality and productivity. Designed production tooling to reduce rework and scrap rates. Performed process and failure analysis to determine root causes of field failures, along with process changes required to prevent future reoccurance.

Provided all process engineering support related to SMT assembly, in addition to direct supervision of SMT area production personnel, for OEM manufacturer of scanners and data terminals for retail and industrial applications. Implemented new solder paste measurement equipment and statistical process control to reduce solder related defects on major product line by 80%. Developed and qualified assembly processes for successful introduction of 0402 discrete components and uBGA packaging to production.
