Mike founded Boardwalk Financial Strategies to help families achieve their financial goals. His personal approach and depth of knowledge in investments as well as tax and estate planning formed the basis for his integrated approach to wealth management.Prior to founding Boardwalk Financial Strategies, Mike provided financial and investment guidance to high net worth individuals and families as a Senior Consultant at Altair Advisers LLC, a wealth advisory firm; and through the Private Client Advisors group of Deloitte & Touche, a multi‐national accounting firm. He started his career as an accountant with Deloitte where he performed and directed financial statement audits of public and private entities.Mike serves on the on the investments and grants committee of the ProHealth Care Foundation board, and as a board member and past president of the Milwaukee Estate Planning Forum, an association of the area’s top legal, financial, and tax professionals. He has served as a subject matter expert for the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, contributing to the development and review of examination questions for the CFP® Certification Examination. Mike is also a member of the CFA Society of Milwaukee, the Waukesha Estate Planning Council, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.He graduated from the University of Illinois with honors in Accountancy, and is proud to have successfully passed over 40 hours of testing to earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant (CFP®), Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder (CFA®) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations – all in his first attempt.Mike and his wife Heidi, along with their three children, reside in the Lake Country area.Specialties: Mike is a Chartered Financial Analyst®, (CFA®), charterholder, a Certified Public Accountant, and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant.
