Specific responsibilities include:• Advise on Environmental, Safety and Health risks, hazards and regulatory compliance. • Provide the vision and leadership to foster a positive safety culture throughout organization. • Develop and implement the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS). • Lead the development, review, approval, interpretation and implementation of safety rules, programs, orders, policies, standards, guides and documents. • Track, analyze and report leading and lagging metrics to identify OSHMS improvements. • Conduct audits and inspections and develop corrective actions to assure effectiveness of programs, and procedures. • Conduct hazard analyses and risk analyses to mitigate hazards and manage risks. • Conduct facility inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance. • Work with personnel across all levels to perform Job Safety Analyses, and identify controls and procedures. • Identify, track and verify effectiveness of hazard controls to protect workers. • Maintain or update emergency response plans or procedures. • Investigate incidents and near misses including root cause analysis and recommend corrective and preventive actions. • Provide leadership and safety expertise to the Safety Committee. • Conduct safety training and demonstrate the use of safety equipment. • Develop weekly tool-box safety training. • Develop and provide new-employee health and safety orientation. • Provide National Safety Council Lift Truck Operator Training, including evaluation of operators.
