• Worked in the iptiQ Actuarial Evaluation Team under the guidance of Senior VP/Chief Actuary and Senior Actuary on annual experience study for lapse rates and Medicare Supplement termination rates involving several projects: lapse study results, Medicare Supplement results, sample validation of expected lapse rates, updating expected lapse rates, and pivot table validation of expected lapse rates• Validated assumption changes using Excel models where the results contribute to pricing and fees for insurance policies• Performed expected lapse rates updates for the best estimate assumptions based on prior year assumption changes• Reviewed and modified R code calculations for the comparisons of actual lapse rates to expected lapse rates • Performed data cleaning in R for life and health policies’ exposure calculations• Created validation report in Excel by comparing expected lapse rates from R output to expected lapse rates calculated by formula from the best estimate assumptions• Populated final result tables for the Lapse study involving a comparison of actual and expected lapse rates• Collaborated with three Swiss Re interns in other fields from New York and Chicago to brainstorm and propose an insurance product involving A.I. to Swiss Re Solutions• Presented internship deliverables and lessons learned to the New York pricing team, management, and HR in a 15-minute presentation

Teaching classes I lead and assisting other instructors both required a great understanding of mixed martial arts which includes boxing, kickboxing, grappling, Brazilian jiujitsu, judo, and wrestling. I first started as an instructor's assistant for the Lion Cubs (Preschool-Kindergarteners) class. My job consisted of demonstrating techniques, explaining moves, correcting students, and ensuring no one fell behind. Most importantly, I worked with students individually and helped them overcome their unique obstacles and build their self-discipline. This experience allowed me to be a role model for them. In addition to the Lion Cubs class, I assisted in the Combat Sports Kids (School-Aged) class as well. This was a bigger class with a large range of skill levels. Often, the head instructor would split the class in two, giving me the opportunity to teach the newer students the basics. It was here that I learned how to manage a large group of students, clearly articulate techniques to those who may be unfamiliar, demonstrate techniques, and prepare students for belt tests and Brazilian jiujitsu competitions.Furthermore, on a select few days of any given week, the head instructor would give me complete autonomy to teach the kids' classes. I would take my students through drills and exercises while the instructor observed. Days like these allowed me to grow and improve my leadership and communication skills.

A normal day consisted of picking up dogs at their home, walking around the neighborhood, disposing of any waste, giving dogs medication when necessary, and feeding dogs depending on the owner's preferences. I made sure to prioritize not only the dogs' safety, but also other neighbors' and their dogs'. While dog sitting, I also provide engaging and entertaining games to play with my clients' dogs. Catering to dog owners' particular instructions was also a normal part of the job.
