Doctoral Research (Phd)Deakin University Mar 2005 - Sep 2008Burwood, Victoria, AuMy PhD investigated the ecology of a small marsupial species, the swamp antechinus. In particular, the research investigated: 1) the impact of marine nutrient inputs (from seabirds) on island populations of antechinus; 2) whether evolutionary pressures of island habitats influenced the reproductive ecology of the swamp antechinus; 3) how factors, such as rainfall, influenced population dynamics of antechinus; 4) if features associated with the island habitat influenced the physiological ecology of antechinus; and 5) how the social behaviour and natal dispersal patterns differed between island and mainland populations. I completed the project within the nominated timeframe and published the results in both national and international scientific journals. -
