I serve as the advisor to the Campus Activities Board, while also planning and implementing social, leadership, community service, and recreational activities for the campus. I assist with orientation and Leadership Academy. I also serve as a liaison for international and commuter students. I work directly with campus theme weeks such as Alcohol Awareness Week, Deep Freeze Week and annual Winter Carnival, and Healthy Me Week.

Bangor, Maine

I provided opportunities for students on UMA's Bangor campus to become involved in social, civic engagement, and multicultural activities. I advised Student Government Association, and played a role in large scale events on campus, such as New Student Orientation,and the annual Spring Fest.Position eliminated due to budget shortfalls within the University of Maine System--March 2014.

I worked with Orientation, Family Weekend, the Activities and Bands Committee, Yearbook, and oversaw the upperclassmen apartment style living area. I was on the on-call duty rotation as well.

Advised student committees on programming campus events. Worked with the Hulman Memorial Student Union Board, Homecoming Committee, Spring Week Committee, and Up 'Til Dawn.

I coordinated a focus group program to improve dining services at Indiana State University. I visited different student groups seeking input on things that were great and opportunities for improvement in regards to Dining Services. I also worked with both the Hulman Memorial Student Union Board and Sodexo on organizing a second annual joint all-campus food drive. I researched the pros and cons to trayless cafeterias and provided a report on my findings. Lastly, I learned more about the "behind-the-scenes" work within Dining Services.

I worked on summer programming for international students, coordinating a camping trip, a canoeing trip, and a Cincinnati trip. I also created assessments to be used for all IAC events, both for student input and IAC staff. I also was on the fall international student orientation planning committee, and revamped the program to be more interactive. I specifically coordinated a group of volunteer tour guides for a new tour of campus for international students.

In this position I worked mainly on compiling and reporting the results of assessments. One assessment was on the quality of the Indiana Statesman (student newspaper) over the past year as critiqued by the advisors. Another was views on a statewide publishing job fair from both student and publication representative perspectives. I also helped write short blurbs about recent accomplishments of student affairs offices for the Annual Report of Student Affairs. Lastly, I learned about what makes a good paper, how it is produced, the process of the newsroom, and using a Mac computer.
