Mechanical Engineer:As the only engineer at the company my responsibilities varied based on needs that day. However, primarily responsible for designing new products, revising existing products and components, perform project management duties during development cycles, providing technical drawings and technical assistance to manufacturers and customers.• Performed 2D and 3D modeling using Solidworks and Rhino3D, taking conceptual designs through to development stages, prototyping, testing and then to manufacturing and oversight.• Worked with marketing and manufacturing on the design of three new product lines. Researcher:Developed Z-directional reinforced carbon fiber composites for the U.S Air Force under a grant from Wright Patterson Air Force Base utilizing patented technology to improve the through-thickness thermal conductivity.• Designed experiments to optimize radial thermal conductivity in carbon fiber composites.• Developed techniques for improving radial thermal conductivity, generating a 450% increase in thermal conduction over control samples.• Conducted material testing using Instron machinery following ASTM guidelines.• Collected and quantified experimental data of mechanical, thermal and electrical properties in enhanced composites against control samples.• Prepared reports, presentations and published literature on this research.• Published and presented literature at JEC, Boston conference and the 1st International Conference on Mechanics of Composites, Stony Brook NY.
